The nine year old boy sat watching his favorite cartoon, suddenly he holds back hearing his mother's voice from the kitchen. "Why the hell is she shouting?" He rolled his eyes."Madhav switch off the television or else you are gonna get a thrash" she shouted. He completely ignored her by raising the volume. His mother rushed through the hall yelling at him. She took the remote to switch off, at that instant her eyes glued to a perfume add. She switched it off by simply passing a comment "these days girls are reluctant to cover their body and a group of people are blaming the culprits in rape cases". Madhav keeps on staring at her.

     

Being indulged in his thoughts Madhav asked his mother "Ma, is it because of the dressing of girls why they are being raped?" Ma replied by chopping vegetables for lunch "Yes, what's there to ask? Girls are supposed to cover their bodies". Again suspicious Madhav shoot her with several questions "But Ma there was some news that even small kids are also getting raped. Does that mean they were also exposing their body?"Ma glancing him replied that "oh Madhav why you are so curious about it now?" Madhav without any hesitation said that "our Madhu is 9 months old and you are not covering her body, that means she too is exposed right? What if she too gets raped lying on the bed just like that?"Ma ignoring him completely asked him to work out on his studies.

     
One day, Madhav was sitting with his friends in the classroom, at that time his friend Neha came wearing a black short skirt and a pink top with a ponytail. It was her birthday. Madhav seeing Neha's outfit began to tease her by calling her several names.

Later on Neha cried a lot and complaint against him to the teacher. Teachers seek for the reason behind Madhav's attitude. After several enquiries, he told that "Neha was wearing a sort of dress which is against the conventional norms which shows that she is a bad girl". The teacher asked him from where he got such and such assumptions. Madhav narrated the incident that happened days before at his house. At last the teacher advised him that "Madhav, your mother may have got it wrong. It's not like that. In all those crimes, girls were helpless and poor things. All those criminals were cold-blooded criminals, bad ones. It's because of their mindset they act like that, in fact they are real psychos. all such mentalities should be cured. Girls are human beings. They should be respected. Don't ever try to harm females. Its a punishable offense."

The teacher then contact Madhav's mother and informed her about all these things. The teacher points out the big mistake she did which can lead Madhav to choose the wrong path. Ashamed of her attitude, Madhav's mother decided to convince her son with proper advice.

This is a small incident from Madhav's life. From this incident you will get to know that every child should be guided properly from his house itself. Children are innocent, they will always try to imitate their parents. They will implement the things that they are studying from their own house. If they are not guided properly, then wait for them to be murderers or criminals.

Teach and train children to respect others.

                                                                      THIRD PHASE

As a part of B.Ed teaching practice, I took a common awareness class for Standard 8th students. The topic was Child Abuse with the main focus on sexual abuse. To make the class much more interesting, I collected some photos and videos to show them. When I stepped out of the class after the session, I was on the verge of tears out of frustration. After my class, I was involved with an interaction, among students, especially girls. I shoot them with one question and the answer made me embarrassed. My question was "What will you do if you become one of the victims, unfortunately?" Among 18 students', 15 of them replied that they would commit suicide without any second thought. This is what they are taught to do.

My question is to the society. "Why do these young minds think this way? Is this what you want? Don't we need to have a healthy society? If a girl is being a victim does that mean it's her fault? Does that mean she is being raped because she is meant for that? Is this what you want to teach them? Do they need to remain in their cages? How far will you restrain them from the evils by caging them without giving proper guidance? Is this what education aims at? What do you mean when you spell the word mother? I swear, nothing is gonna change without annihilating the wrong thoughts. A catastrophe for the nation is looming.  

They are children, seeds waiting to sprout. They are gonna plucked out before they get a life. Guide them and give support. Achieve a good rapport with them and console them if they are depressed, say that you are there for them. Assure them that their life is to fight against injustice not to give up. Tell them that in case they end up in a hostile situation, you will embrace them with open arms, to care for them and that you will handle things. Train them to say a firm NO when they don't feel in any situation. Let them raise their voice. They are not puppets anymore. 

Let us together mold a healthy society.

I do believe that schools play a vital role in molding us. Apart from textual learning, a child should acquire more knowledge about everything around him. However, the process of learning doesn't always take place in schools but also from the people we interact with within the house, neighborhood, society, etc. From everything there will be something for us to learn. A child should be guided or enriched with the facts rather than mere assumptions. He should not be oppressed by any sort of outside force. He should have enough space to explore his abilities or his talents.
 
                   Nowadays, parents are more focused on building a career for their children. Career is not something that should be suggested by others. Parents are a medium of support and proper guidance, instead of imposing their wishes on the children. Children should get a platform to exhibit their talents and to freely express their ideas. It's through their talents and ideas he/she should achieve their goal.

               

A child should be taught to distinguish good and bad; to respect others; rely on truth; he/she should develop his own moral values. He should know that every single human has the right to live in this world and that no one has the right to hurt or punish other beings. He should be properly guided instead of injecting poisonous concepts like gender discrimination and caste culture, they should be brought up following the fundamental rights.

                  We live in the same world with a common language to convey ideas and thoughts. But still we tend to forget this fact. Education is supposed to make us wise. Nevertheless, we remain blind by sticking on to the so-called patriarchal conventions someone set up decades ago. We still didn't analyze whether it is relevant to follow these any longer. Though our lifestyles are changing with the environment we remain ignorant in removing the irrelevant taboos all over.

                   The rapidly increasing cases of child abuse can be avoided to an extent by guiding the children properly. Instead of saying a big NO to your child who wants to venture out try explaining to them the reason for the restriction. If the reason is something related to the blindly followed concepts as mentioned earlier, then it is better to keep mum. For instance, girls are not supposed to be alone in the outside world. Instead of restricting them from their enjoyment it is necessary to wipe out the danger hiding in the darkness. Because at least once in a lifetime they should have to be in the world all alone. And it's our duty to prepare her for what she will face then.

                  So, then teach your children to respect others, care for others, and love others. Let them not stumble in darkness in spite of having the best education in the world.

                                                              FIRST PHASE

When I was a child, just like others I too had certain ambitions. Since, it was a common factor among the children to dream of becoming either doctor or an engineer apart from acting like a teacher, yes I too wish to become a doctor. I used to collect the wrappers of tablets and distributed it to the patients by drawing an ECG in a plain paper and putting someone's signature. I used to claim that the tablet I distributed will give some comfort to the patients' issues. On the other hand, during the evening, I draped saree (shawl) holding some books and a stick assuming plants as my subjects in fact my prey. I would teach them by asking questions that cannot be described in any medium of language, maybe it was me who first introduced the language of the character Kaalakeyan from the movie Bahubali. The only childhood friend who still exist as my forever is my neighbor Sreeparvathy, whom I call as Paru. My companion in all malpractices. But she was far more realistic than me I think. 

                             

                          Gradually as I grew, there were several questions inside me that were not answered, even I was also ignorant to raise those questions. Mostly the questions were WHY? WHY?WHY? It troubled me terrifically once I tried to answer it. Maybe that is why I gave up at that time. But with my growth the suspicions too were growing along with me, and here now I stand daring to ask the world those questions, those suspicions. 

                       

Education can enlighten our minds "so far", but how far? No idea. Just like my stupid question, even my answer too remains as stupid. I am gonna unveil my remarks on these questions from my lack of knowledge gradually. As per the famous French psychoanalyst, Jacques Lacan, through his theory Mirror Stage says that a child will realize the difference between the "inner world" and the "outer world" when he reaches the mirror stage. Yes, it is from that stage a child realize about its separate existence from his/her mother. "Mother" which means universal love, an unconditional love. Through this mother, the child will put his first step towards the outside world. Just like me and all of us. But, in some instances, some psychic experiences drive us to acts insane without realizing the love and care that act as a shield. Why so? Who is responsible for it? Is it us? or the Society? or Education? or Parents? Yes, we should know that. We should find out the factor that lead us to do the misdeeds. Maybe the solution is yet their wrapped up without being untouched.

                                                                     PROLOGUE

                                          A career to catch up with decent payment is the basic aim behind every people. But, once into it, a new sort of emotion or feeling will bound us. May be a passion for it or else a dedication. Whatever be the reason, if the field we are dealing with is overruling us in a way of evoking curiosity to know more, then trust me " YOU ARE TRAPPED". When indulged in the duties entrusted upon you again "YOU ARE TRAPPED". Since, it shows that you start behaving like a puppet to someone. Instead, be a franchised dealer of your deeds. Out of passion or dedication, our inner mind will mold us to perform accordingly, and that will lead you to a wide range of area that leave you us dumbfounded. Because you will realize that the root cause of several issues in our society are yet untouched without being treated properly. Once, out of excitement if we are making an effort to have research then the final outcome will be useless. Some times words can act as a sword, but these write-ups too can be invisible as a matter of time. Each and everything has got a boundary line that would never be crossed or maybe ignorant to cross. Once it is crossed, then that will be the first and last time one would dare to cross. Still one should cross, one should raise their voice against the wrong even though a void place is what waiting for you in the society. Rather than wishing for a  reputation, be the one who paves the way for switching on to a peaceful society. "YES". I am gonna try to devastate the current scenario, to demolish the unwanted things considered as relevant to be blindly followed. Hope at least some changes may occur in others mind by hearing the unheard.
